About Me

Kevin Scroggins
So you'd like to know a little bit about me, would you? Well, my name is Kevin Scroggins (internet alias, "nitro glycerine"). I'm a 26 year old programmer, aspiring game developer and passionate video gamer living in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I'm currently playing Natural Selection 2, Minecraft, Warframe, Red Orchestra 2 and ARMA2 Operation Arrowhead. A few of my favourite games (oh man, this is a tough one!) include Total Annihilation, Duke Nukem 3D, Goldeneye 64, Z, Unreal Tournament, Left 4 Dead, Metro 2033, Shadow of the Colossus, Command & Conquer Red Alert, VVVVVV and many more.

I also recently graduated from Carleton University in June 2012, with a BCS Honours in Computer Science / Game Development. My honours project was a collaborative level designer with plugin support designed around a game engine / development kit I have been continually working on for various small projects, known as Serious Level Designer. I have also participated in Global Game Jam 2010 & 2011, with friends and we made Lamb Mines and Angry Angry Island!

I love computer hardware as well, and frequently build / modify / upgrade both my own computers, as well as computers for friends and various clients on the side. I have even built a number of computer cases entirely out of K'nex (which are actually really durable, believe it or not!) that I think are pretty awesome. I've even dabbled in a bit of robotics during my studies at Carleton University, as well as electronics. Admittedly I'm not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to electronics, but I've always loved making circuits and wiring things together ever since I was a kid (and still do!). I also enjoy halloween and always look forward to carving pumpkins. I always try to outdo myself each year, whether it be with complicated patterns, new techniques or just tons of pumpkins.

Anyways, that's enough about me! Go and check out some of the links above! Thanks for reading!
